Have Can Recycling to Dump?

Troop 459 is now taking responsibility for the can recycling trailer in the parking lot of the Church of Holy Apostles.  We will be emptying the trailer at least monthly and appreciate any donations of aluminum cans. Glass and plastic are not allowed.  Money earned from this recycling program will go towards the activities and programs in which the scouts in Troop 459 are participating, such as camping trips, summer camp, merit badge activities and outdoor excursions.  Thank you very much for your support!    

About Troop 459

We are a troop about fun and learning life skills. We do a game at the last meeting of each month and more in between each meeting. We hold meetings for a hour and a half each week. Also, we have monthly campouts or day events. We have an annual calendar planning. At the calendar planning, boys and parents bring, present, and vote on events and/or campouts we want to go on. We also have another annual event called a "summer camp". You have probably heard this term before and it's name implies what it means. We choose a summer camp and we stay there for a week during summer. During summer camps we can sign up to learn merit badges such as archery or metal working! To make things more interesting, we have jobs within the troop. Some jobs include the Cheer-Master and the Den Chief. The working on this website for instance, is the Webmaster. Boys run for certain jobs and are elected by the SPL. In turn, the SPL is elected by the Boys. Also, we have ranks that Boys can earn by learning how to do certain things. The highest rank, Eagle Scout, can actually help the Boy in his college application, resume, or even earn him a higher rank in the army when (and if) he joins. Developing life skills is usually the result of joining the troop and becoming a hard-working member.
